Found and replaced faulty icemaker

"Found spin basket wallowed out causing unit to bang loud during spin and spinning out of round. Also Gearcase is very loud. Unit would need to be rebuilt which is not economical to repair. Customer to replace. Mrs advised she is going to look for a washer that has a metal drive hub, advised model # WTW4816FW is probably what she is looking for.

Checked unit ops found unit to be working as designed customer stated unit was making a loud banging noise in spin cycle ran unit in a drain&spin cycle and found loud banging noise to be the drain line smacking the back side of unit secured drain line and calibrated unit everything checks good at this time

Found that one of the two pieces ordered was not damaged and was able to use for this repair. Swapped over all pertaining parts and tested unit, no further issues found at this time job complete"

Installed harness all ops ok.

"Got to this unit to hear from the customer that it is not cooling nor has it been for a week or so. Found the unit to be plugged in and fans running. Also found the compressor to be running once the unit was pulled out from the wall. Customer had asked some questions about possibility of issues with copper piping For not being able to work on sealed system. This was a rumor he had heard and wasnt sure about any part of it. Unfortunately, with further investigation found that this unit was contaminated by sulfur from the customers water. This has turned all of the copper lines black. And which case service is not recommendable. The sulfur contamination causes issues in any of the worlds done that are necessary for sealed system work. Collected for service calls but no further work has to be done on this unit."

Installed new ACU and also checked filter cap but its cleaned. Tested unit and it is now working properly. Job complete.

Filltube was out of place which caused after buildup in the evap coils and cover and ended in the freezer floor. Repaired problem by reinstalling the full tube correctly. Also defrosted all the ice and cleared it. Temperatures are fine and now theres no more water leaks.

"No fault error codes recorded in unit history. Unit ran through diagnostic auto test confirming 120VAC Stanning at both L1 / L2, 240vAC supplied to the heater element. Unit ran through time dry cycle confirming proper cycling of the heater circuit. With the units lower front panel removed immediately found not only clear signs of a vent restriction but both the front moisture sensor electrodes disconnected from the moisture sensor. Customer states, no previous services have been conducted on this unit. Connections between the moisture sensor and electrodes secured to correct. Dryer vent cleaning recommended prior to continued use to allow for optimal drying and prevention of component failure. Customer to advise.

"New gearcase, spin basket, slider, clutch, stater, rotor and agitator previously ordered and one spaner nut from truck stock installed. Unit leveled for proper balance. Unit ran through diagnostic cycle and component activation tests in diagnostics as well as initial quick wash cycle without fault and/or water leaks. All unit test, operations, and sounds check good upon completion of repair. Customer to advise.

"Cx complaint: no coolFound frost build up on freezer back wall. Removed evap cover found a loose connection at the defrost heater wire connection. Reconnected the harness correctly. Plugged the unit in, everything kicked back on. Units operating as designed.

"Got to this unit to find the icemaker would not respond to testing. Customer confirms this information as well that the unit was not working previously. Gave customer estimate and was approved for part change. Replaced icemaker and tested. Found that the new icemaker is responding and was sent water properly. Waiting for unit to freeze water and start the ice production again.

"Go to this unit to find the error code F7E9 for rotor issues present. Tested unit to find out the agitator was sometimes making a grinding noise. Lifted the machine back to find out the main screw holding the rotor to the Gearcase was very loose. This was allowing the slider to move too much and push the rotor away from itself as well. Due to this was able to tighten and retest no further issues found at this time unit back to normal operation. However, did see some oil underneath this unit to indicate that the gear case has lead at some point or another. Gave this information to the customer to make them aware that that may not have a long longevity. Job complete."

Go to the unit and replace parts ordered. Checked over unit and confirmed that all parts appear to be working properly now. No further issues Seen. job complete.

Found unit leaking from tub seal and tub bearing is loud during spin. Advised customer unit is 22 years old and parts are no longer available. Customer to replace.

"Found a blockage at drain pump/drain hose connection. Cleared blockage, ran through a complete cycle and verified unit fills and drains properly and completes a wash. All checks OK."

"Replaced valve assembly, calibrated unit and performed an auto test which completed without fault. All checks OK.

"Since prior service, water supply to the unit and ice production have both been left off. However, found both the ice maker cube mold and adjacent switch bank housing overflowed with solid ice. Further inspection has found low water supplied to both the filtered (Not R/O) drinking fountain at the kitchen sink as well as to the Subzero refrigerator due to a restricted under sink water purification filter. Customer states the under sink water purification filter was long expired and in need of replacement. Restricted water flow likely the original cause of the inlet water valve failure which compromised the icemaker assembly. New inlet water valve and icemaker assembly installed. Confirmed no water leaks at the unit inlet water valve. Units icemaker left in the off position. Customer has been advised to have the under sink water purification filter replaced before resuming ice production to prevent reoccurring component failure. Customer to advise.

New HMI panel installed. Power supplied and removed in 30 second intervals x5 till manufacturing program was exited. Confirmed units model and serial numbers have been transferred to and stored in the new HMI panel. New ACU installed. Power restored and diagnostic cycle conducted. All unit tests and operations check good at time of service without fault and/or water leaks. Customer to continue normal use and advise should further service be required.

"As reported found no illumination, tone and/or function at the unit UI panel. Confirmed 120VAC supplied, properly polarized and grounded. This unit is stacked however, with the stacked unit pulled forward and the washers rear panel removed confirmed power supplied to the ACU with no binary flash of the ACU processor LED. Power momentarily restored to the unit without change. Power again disconnected from the unit in excess of 10 minutes allowing for safe inspection finding no visible damage. Washers rear panel reinstalled and stacked unit pushed back to original position. Power again supplied now restoring full UI function. F6-E3 (Communication Error ACU to UI) & F6-E2 (Communication Error UI to ACU) recorded in unit history, cleared prior to testing. Unit ran through complete auto test in diagnostics as well as initial Rinse & Spin cycle without fault and/or water leaks. Unit is now fully functional however, per the customer this issue had initially started as an intermittent failure. Should failure reoccur, both a new ACU and UI panel will likely need to be installed to correct. Additional component failures may exist. Replaced the condenser motor with new part and moved around some copper tubes. Could not hear any noises from the unit. Customers will advise if noises comes back.

Cut and stripped the burnt wire terminals replaced with new terminals. Installed the burner and tested and all checks okay .

Go back to the unit and install parts. Parts installed and ran Test. No further issues found at this time. Job complete.

"Got to the unit to find no water, nor ice in the maker or bin. Tested to find that icemaker is responding to testing. Found that maker was not receiving water when I asked for delivery. Took cover off to the icemaker to find that the inlet for the water was frozen. Was able to remove ice and allow water to make it to the maker. Tested twice over. No issues getting water into the maker at this time. Discussed with the customer that if this continues the dual water valve more than likely would be subject to replacement. Gave customer price for the valve. If this continues that would be my recommendation. Customer to call us back and let us know."

"Found the units hub gears stripped preventing proper operation through agitation and/or spin cycles. Units washplate coupler seized onto the gearcase shaft preventing removal without damage. Additionally, customer is reporting a clicking sound through operation originating from the lower unit. No less than a new washplate and hub assembly will be needed to correct primary failure. Additional failures may exist. Cost to repair primary failure only exceeds customers preset limit without addressing additional possible failures and/or noise issues. Customer requests no further service at this time. Customer to advise.

"Replaced compressor inverter, unit started and is cooling fine. All checks OK."

"Found freezer drain frozen and ice accumulating around evaporator, blocking airflow to FF section. Defrosted unit and cleared drain which was full of styrofoam. Also added heat probe to heater to keep drain from freezing. Also warm air intrusion from icemaker fill tube, sealed with permagum to prevent frost buildup. All checks OK at this time."
