"Customer concerned that the unit is not cooling properly. Confirmed issue. Upon arrival, temperature in the refrigerator section is 50 degrees. Accessed freezer evaporator and found defrost issue. Checked defrost thermistor and it is reading 32k ohms which is good at the temperature it is in. Tested resistance of the defrost heater and got 86ohms which is also good. Noticed that one of the plugs to the heater is loose. Removed plug and reinstalled and tested heater in test mode. Heater is turning on and working now. Gave customer the option for me to defrost the evaporator, or she can unplug the unit and let it manually defrost. Customer will Uno,it unit and let defrost for 2 days with door open. Job complete.

Got to the unit and installed new basket. It was clear to see that the old basket had barely any of the holes drilled in it. Both along the bottom top and the vertical type stations. Due to this that basket was doomed for failure. With new basket inspected and finding proper holes drilled there this unit should move forward without issue. All testing shows that is complete.

"Found an egg had fallen and broken at the rear of the RC leaking directly into the right side air return port and onto the defrost heater resulting in strong burning odor reported. Unrelated, through inspection found the units ice container broken at the base allowing ice cubes to fall into and out of the ice container base and base release. Egg debris cleared from within the FC / RC interior. Customer instructed on methods to help eliminate odors from within the unit interior. "F7-E1 x2 (Tachometer missing or Wrong Signal) & F7-E7 (Motor unable to reach target RPM) recorded in unit history, cleared prior to testing. Initial inspection has found the securing nut for the cam assembly pulley has backed out allowing the drive belt to come free of the motor pulley resulting in operational failure reported. Previously installed cam assembly has been damaged as a result. New cam assembly from truck stock installed and secured to correct. "Got to this unit to find error code F8E1 for Longfield. Discovered that the unit was not delivering any cold water. Hot water was working, but cold was not delivering during testing or otherwise. "Removed old evaporator and performed extensive flush on entire sealed system. Verified proper flow through each lines. With evaporator and drier removed, was able to verify flow through condenser and to entrance of filter drier. Suction line at evaporator is pulling flow. Installed new evaporator and filter drier. Verified absolutely no leaks in the sealed system with nitrogen. Vacuumed system to 700 microns and charged with 7.625oz of r134a. Started unit and pressures stabilized at -0.2psi on the low, and 101psi on the high. Let unit run for 20 minutes and evaporator is at 75% frost pattern. Re-installed all other parts and informed customer to monitor. Customer will call us at 8am tomorrow if no cool. If customer calls back and unit is still not cooling, will need to replace the compressor and heat exchanger and filter drier again.

Tested water fill after taping door switches and advancing ice maker from the fron and measured water into a measuring cup which ended up being 1/3 than poured into ice maker and confirmed about the proper fill bu this was after he had me unplug the unit and plug back in because we los 120 v at the harness going to ice maker ... End result we leveled unit and advised customer to monitor unit as the unleveling may have been why the extra mold on some of the ice keeping it stuck together before the harvest into ice bin

"Found multiple slivers of ice in ice bin. Removed icemaker and inspected icemaker mold. Confirmed slivers of ice sitting in icemaker (insufficient water). Ran multiple icemaker, harvest test and confirmed icemaker properly cycling. performed multiple icemaker water fill test, and confirmed correct amount of water coming from valve. Found fill tube heater lifting up from tube and icemaker cover bowed in several locations receded filled to Peter to allow better heat transfer and sealed icemaker cover at air leaks. Emptied ice bin and advised missed to monitor unit. Advise Miss to call us back if icemaker still not working properly. (will call tech-support on return trip) job complete."

"Customer reports excessively long dry times and moisture accumulation at the door seal with little to no lint collection at the filter screen by end of dry cycle. Reported issues are clear signs of vent restriction. By use of a Whirlpool vent airflow test kit from miscellaneous stock confirmed vent restriction. All other unit tests and operations check good at time of service. Professional vent cleaning will be needed to restore proper airflow for optimal unit performance. Customer instructed to discontinue use of the unit till after vent cleaning has been performed to prevent component failures i.e. heater element failure, thermal fuse trip, etc. Customer to advise.

"Found reported water leak the result of multiple unit component damages and/or failures i.e. separator dispenser assembly, separated / broken water guide from the dispenser assembly to the door bellow inlet port, deformed and hardened door bellow, etc. Ongoing and progressive water leaks have resulted in further damage to the unit cabinet interior, shock support and overall structural integrity. Due to unit age, condition and extent of damages the customer has opted to replace rather than advance with further repair service. Customer to advise.
