Found operational failure reported not due to unit component failure but a result of a power supply failure. Found power supplied through separated circuit breakers within the homes circuit panel. Found one of the two circuit breakers tripped resulting in a loss of 120VAC supply to the L1 connection. Both circuit breakers reset properly restoring 240VAC to the unit. All initial unit test and operations check good upon completion of service. Customer to continue normal use of the unit and advise should further service be required.

"Unit operating in ice production cycle on arrival. Ice cubes within the ice bin mostly full sized however somewhat cloudy and covering the base of the bin in a single layer only. Initial inspection has found the unit had been pushed back into the cabinet allowing the units door panel to contact the adjacent cabinet. Units door would appear closed however, remain open at least one inch resulting in warm air infiltration causing ice produced to melt more rapidly. Unit repositioned and left operating in cycle. Confirmed water reservoir full with good spray pattern. Condenser fan motor operating at speed with good airflow. No signs of a seeping inlet water valve. Drain system clear of obstruction and draining properly with good pressure. Less than 30min of arrival the unit initiated harvest cycle releasing all ice cubes from the evaporator mold. Ice cubes produced confirmed to be full sized with perfect clarity. With the units door now properly sealing the customer will monitor ice production over the weekend. Customer will advise should slow ice production issue persist."

Got to this unit to find that the suspension was extremely bouncy. Also found that the lid was completely separating from glass to the lid assembly. Not too much longer in this piece of glass will become separate from the lid. With this information gave the customer an estimate for all parts and labor involved.unfortunately this did not meet the cost-effectiveness that was needed. "Came to reinspect unit and determine water is not getting into the icemaker. The line was not frozen so when I checked for error codes the icemaker checks out good I ran a test. I forced it to start and it cycled all the way and water. Im thinking the problem is, the valve is faulty so on his own is not sending water to the icemaker. The valve was replaced less than a year ago so we will not charge customer for the part and also for labor since I charged her labor last week and is still not working.shell keep an eye on it. "Per the customer the unit had been operating without fault and/or noise issues for about a week following prior service. Customer reports noise issue now occurring during agitation cycles only however, the unit is otherwise fully functional. Physical inspection conducted finding no visible component damage. Lower assembly, tub assembly, agitator, etc. all secure. Unit ran through operational testing. Noise issue is slight and lasts only a second or less but appears to be originating between the main cam pulley and the gearcase transmission. Due to the unit age and condition cost of repair would exceed unit value. As such the customer has opted not to advance with further repair service at this time. Customer to advise."

Unit had a partial defrost issue which was caused by fan not running and thermistor out of range. Crimped thermistor to evap and wrapped in permagum per TL recommendation. Tested defrost heater and it kicked right on and heats properly. New fan is running and all operations test OK at this time. Mrs will give 24 hours to get down to temp and will advise."

Got back to this unit to hear from the customer that the cooling has returned and has not been intermittent since unplugging the LED board. Because this reinforces the issue we were having. Unplugged the unit swapped out the LED board for the new and plug the unit back in. Found that all the lights were working correctly. "F1-E1 (Internal Oven ACU Failure), F2-E1 (Stuck / Shorted Key) & F2-E0 (Keypad Disconnected) recorded in unit history, cleared prior to testing. Unit ran through both full diagnostic load testing and normal bake cycle operations to 375?F for both the upper and lower ovens without reoccurring fault. In speaking with the customer found the oven door(s) would often be left open after use allowing accumulated heat to escape for a faster cool down. However, such practice allows excessive heat to be transferred directly to both the UI and primary controls which can result in operational failures, recorded faults, etc. Customer instructed on Use & Care to prevent customer driven faults and failures. Customer will continue use as instructed and advise should further service be required.

"Controls acting very erratic. Unit intermittently goes non-responsive, control not sending voltage to drain pump and started to apply voltage to water valve and fill by itself when no cycle was started. Would need to replace all electronics however UI is discontinued. Unit is non-repairable, customer to replace.

Part received was in the same condition as the original part installed. I found water spilling over into fresh food section once again and also drain clogged. I cleared the ice with my steamer and ran a piece of quarter inch tubing down the drain about six or 8 inches to ensure that it was clear. I called Whirlpool Techline and spoke with Adrian. I texted him pictures and advised him of the situation. He said that he would pass this information onto the engineering department for further review and resolution and that the unit cannot be repaired.. Job complete.SR#7739027277
