"Got to this unit to find refrigerator section at approximately 50 to 60?. Found freezer temperature much lower. With testing found all sensors for temperature to be reporting properly all past test. Further investigation took us into the evaporator of the refrigerator section. Found that the temperature sensor in the evaporator section was not making good contact with the evaporator. Was able to crimp the outer metal secure piece to ensure that it was proper contact to the evaporator and not loose the way I found it. Put the unit to frost pattern on refrigerator, evaporator to make sure that it was fully capable. After this, discuss with the customer that this unit needed a power reset to get it to work back to normal operation. After power reset found the evaporator fan in the refrigerator to be working properly and feeling colder air than what had previously been found in the refrigerator. Due to this believe the unit to be back to normal cooling. But time will tell and the customer is to let us know if indeed it is, back in good working order or not. Job complete."

Found unit not leveled allowing water to collect on the front portion of icemaker and ultimately freeze in that position. Unit was tilted forward about 2 1/2 inches. I leveled the unit so that the water seats correctly inside of icemaker. I removed and replaced the ice container as it would not properly dispense ice. "On arrival found unit set temperatures at 0?F FC / 35?F RC, actual operating temperatures -6?F FC / 47?F RC. Units ice bin filled to max capacity with solid and proper sized ice cubes. Initial inspection has found no obvious signs of component damage, evaporator frost over(s), door gasket seal issues, etc. Unit ran through extensive diagnostic testing finding multiple thermistors reading open or +10?F or more warmer than actual with exception to the FC thermistor reading 7?F colder at -13?F. Recorded diagnostic temperature log for the last 6hrs has found the Highest Temperature, Average Temperature & Coldest Temperature conflicting and not accurate or representative of realistic measure. All other components i.e. compressor operation, fan motors, airflow, door switches, etc. pass load testing without fault. Power cycle to the unit conducted and diagnostic testing repeated. Found for no less than 5min after entry into diagnostics the units compressor continued operation without compressor test cycles being selected. Following power cycle all unit thermistors found to be reading actual temperatures, not previous open or offset temperatures reported. Second power cycle conducted, disconnect for +15min before restoring power ensuring proper start up procedure with reduced chance for carryover of corrupted logic and/or communication faults. Customer instructed to monitor unit operations, running temperatures, etc. and advise should RC warmer temp conditions persist.

Defrosted evaporator and found burnt defrost heater connector due to poor connection. Replaced with updated defrost heater/harness which removes the problematic connector. Unit kicked into a defrost and all operations test OK at this time.

7738450025 Called WP techline and reported when I went to blow out the lines black sludge had come out of the unit along with a interesting smell. Unit has been submitted for pecks due to contamination inside of sealed system.

"Got back to this unit and replaced parts that were ordered specifically for the ICU and auger motor area. Found that the shoot had a bad gasket and a crack in the shoot itself. Also found that one of the wires under the auger motor had been smashed by the installation of the motor. Was able to use one of our scotch locks to repair this junction and was able to fix and restore power to the auger motor. This was an intermittent issue before. Found an excessive amount of moisture underneath the shoot as well. This was due to the improper seal of the shoot and the crack found. with all of these repairs in mind unit should be back to normal cooling and normal operation. Job complete.

"Customer concerned that the unit is not cooling again. Confirmed issue. Upon arrival, verified 40+ degrees in the freezer section. Found weak frost pattern at evaporator. Pulled unit out with floor skid and accessed compressor and filter drier. Checked pressures and found low side at -18psi and high side at 99psi. Called tech line and went over pressures with them. Tech line stating that the unit has a very small leak. Disassembled unit and charged with 140psi of nitrogen. Applied leak detector to all visible joints. Found no leaks at all. Found that the pressures are slowly dropping about 0.1psi every 10 seconds or so. Isolated system and found internal leak within the unit. Called tech line back and confirmed internal leak. This will not be repairable. Unit is still within sealed system warranty so informed customer that whirlpool will be contacting them within the next few days. SR# 7738948284. Job complete."

Sr#7738465901 no further service to be done for this issue. Called into Techline to get this reported. Tech line is stating that this is as far as the repair is able to go. After replacing these parts and the unit is still having the same problem they are not wanting us to put more time or money into this product. I am being told this unit is working as designed. The customer is nice about the situation but is still having this issue. Gave customer the SR number and the customer care phone number for whirlpool. Ask him to please call in with this SR number see what resolution can be provided.

Installed new bake element and control board for large oven. Confirmed unit heating properly. Job complete.

Found nothing to speak of there. tested the unit and found all operations to be working properly. Customer to let us know."
