Got to this unit and heard from the customer that it was not spinning out correctly. Got underneath this unit and found that the main bolt holding the rotor onto the gear case had come loose and was allowing for the rotor to be pushed away during the engagement and disengagement of the slider. Not allowing for the actual torque to be sent to the correct place and able to skip over and not actually spin correctly. Was able to verify that there was no damage done to the parts as this was happening. Customer had not used the unit more than just hearing the noise. Was able to install new screw with Loctite on it to prevent this from happening again. Tested automatic cycle and calibration to confirm operation and no further issues. All testing confirmed operation and no further issues found at this time.

"Cx complaint: F8E4 unit wont complete a cycle.Upon arrival, entered diagnostics and found F8E4 Overfill/Float Switch Open. Took the kick plate off and ran a diagnostic cycle. Found water dripping into the drip tray. Removed the front panel and found water beaching over the bottom gasket seal. Adjusted the feet to level the unit. Tested operations, and water is no longer going over the bottom gasket. Advised cx to call the office if issues persist."

"On arrival found the unit disconnected from power. Unit restored to power for testing, immediately energized the drain pump motor as if in flood condition, no water within the wash tub. Canceled at the UI, flood condition again triggered within 30 seconds. F3-E1 (Pressure system fault) recorded in unit history. Procedures conducted as listed in the Whirlpool Technical Service Pointer #: W11766193 Rev C. Confirmed failure due to a faulty pressure sensor of the main control. New control supplied by pre-ID installed to correct. Unit ran through calibration cycle and diagnostic auto test without fault and/or water leaks. All unit operations check good upon completion of service. Customer to continue normal use of the unit, monitor and advise should further service be required. "Vent air flow test kit supplied by pre-ID used confirming adequate airflow for proper operation and efficient drying performance. Confirmed the units heater circuit functional however, found in excess of 10-12 minutes of delay between heating cycles resulting in longer dry times reported by the customer. New inlet thermostat kit and outlet thermal from truck stock installed to correct. Unit again ran through operational testing in time dry / high heat setting finding delay times reduced to between 3.5-5 minutes. All unit operations check good upon completion of service. Got to this unit to find that the suspension was bad on initial evaluation. Ran an automatic test and definitely heard some odd things when the unit went into a spin. Went underneath to investigate and did find that the gear case was leaking all over the belt and clutch assembly. This would indeed dictate that the gear case cam belt would all need to be replaced. As well as the suspension was found to be very weak. These parts would basically dictate this unit not to be cost-effective to repair. Customer validated this exact scenario when these prices were given. Customer will more than likely buy a new unit. As this is not going to be effective to repair. Job complete.

"Customer concerned that the ice maker is not working. Confirmed issue. Upon arrival, checked freezer temperature and got 4 degrees. Tested all components, all components are good. However, removed deli drawer UI and found moisture intrusion present. Recommended to customer that we either replace the deli door and the interface, OR just leave the interface unplugged customer opting to just unplug the interface control, to prevent dc voltage feedback at the main control. This was causing ice maker cycling issues. Reset the unit and turned ice maker on. Job complete."

Came and determine the same issue where unit keeps turning off on them intermittently and wont keep back on until they power cycle the unit. They have lost lost of food. We have replaced everything possible on this unit per whirlpool techline and they have advised us there is nothing to change so they are redeeming this unit unrepairable. Here is the SR #7741891267.
