"Got to this unit to hear from this customer that the refrigerator occasionally was making a odd noise. After lots of discussion and trial and error with different scenarios for possible issues with this unit, it has come to the determination that after powering the unit on and then back off the noise coming from the unit is coming from the back of behind the refrigerator and freezer. For verification and otherwise looked up and made sure that there are no electronic parts in the rear of this unit they could make the noise that we heard from a power reset. It is now determined that the refrigerator and freezer probably both have some version of a Power protection device and that is causing the noise that this customer is hearing. It is an audible music type tone which this unit cannot produce. Job complete."

"Got back to this unit to install new heater. Remove the cover from the evaporator and indeed found the loose wire from the heater had fallen out. Was able to put new heater in and rely the rest of the wire harness that comes along with it. Got unit back together and tested and found unit now to be working correctly. No real test for the heater itself, but the rest of all parts are working. Job complete

Got this unit to hear from the customer that small loads were not processing correctly. Tested and found that the suspension was extremely bouncy. Was able to remove and replace suspension. Then went to run a calibration unit started to go through the calibration and then stopped abruptly and would not proceed through. Further testing found that the actuator was indeed faulty. Was able to replace those part and test out further. Unit is now behaving correctly and is able to shift as though its designed. No further issues found job complete.

Came and determined that the reason why it was making too much ice was when Im installed the new bin thermostat The wire was not pushed in all the way in therefore cannot tell the amount of ice that was in there. Reinstall the bin wire from the thermostat correctly by pushing it all the way in about 12 inches. It should not start working properly. Job complete.

"Got back to this unit and was able to install new heater wire harness and control board. After doing so got the unit back together and was able to test. Unit was able to compress and start cooling as though it should have originally. One of these components, had shorted this unit out and was not allowing it to run. "Found the unit turned off and at ambient temperature on arrival. Unit set for ice production finding water flow to the water reservoir, circulation pump, spray pattern to the evaporator cube mold all functioning normally and without fault. However, found no compressor and/or condenser fan motor operation after several minutes. Customers original description of failure matches results through testing, normal operational sound with no ice production / no cooling. Power cycled to the unit conducted at the homes circuit breaker panel. Upon restoring power and again setting for ice production cycle found all unit components to include the compressor and condenser fan motor initiated normal function without fault. Confirmed good heat transfer throughout the unit compartment sealed system and water reservoir temperature drop of more than 15?F in less then 10min into cycle. Customer to monitor and advise should further service be required.

"Unit initiated cycle operation for testing finding unobstructed water flow through the units inlet water valve during fill cycle however, less than two minutes into cycle F12 (Water inlet valve fault) displayed and cancel auto cycled. As the units water inlet water valve function and water through the valve both check good primary failure appears more related to the water pressure system. Unit uninstalled and rear panel removed for access. No visible component damage found. Units pressure sensor uninstalled from the sump, also no visible damage. Pressure sensor manually actuated multiple times appearing fully functional. Pressure sensor port pneumatically cleared of debris and/or blockage if present. Pressure sensor securely reinstalled and reconnected to the lower wire harness. Unit again initiated normal wash cycle now without fault. Cycle continued in operation in excess of +15min without fault, water leaks, abnormal sound issues and/or displayed faults. Unit reinstalled and left operating in cycle to clear any remaining obstruction(s). Customer to continue normal use of the unit and advise should further service the required.

Found no function and/or operational sound from the lower door lock mechanism when initiating self clean cycle. Primary failure the result of a faulty door lock mechanism and/or relay control board. Prior to advancing, part availability pulled for reference finding both the door lock mechanism and relay control board as well as the door hinges have all been discontinued by the manufacture are NLA. Unable to conduct repair service due to discontinued part status. Customer advised.

"On arrival found the unit disconnected from power. Power restored for testing after which the units drain pump immediately energized as if in flood condition. Flood condition canceled at the UI however, continued to reoccur. Confirm reported F3-E1 (Pressure System Fault) recorded in unit history, no other faults recorded. Units pressure hose and air dome clear of construction and/or damage. Pressure hose securely seated. This issue has been noted in Whirlpool Technical Service Pointer #: W11766193 Rev E, requiring the installation of a new updated control to correct and help prevent reoccurring failure. New updated control supplied by pre-ID installed. Unit ran through calibration cycle and diagnostic auto test without fault, water leaks and or abnormal sound issues. Found strike had broke and unit would not lock.. Installed new strike and confirmed unit now locking and unit is back to working like it should

Found multiple faults for a failed heating element and failed wash motor not worth repair customer to buy a new one

"Customer reports the units cooktop and oven are fully operational independently however, when both are in use simultaneously total heating failure of both the cooktop and oven occur upon reaching preheat temp. No circuit breaker trip on occurrence of failure. Unit unable to resume cooktop and oven heating function until cooling down to or near ambient temperature. Reports no failure codes displayed on occurrence. Unit pulled for inspection finding the power supply cord partially pulled from the outlet resulting in poor contact which may or may not be a contributing factor under heavy amp draw. Further inspection has found the harness connection between the main wire harness and the oven sensor damaged due to high heat exposure preventing accurate temperature read, picture attached for reference. Units oven elements pass continuity check, no resistance to chassis ground. All other wire harness connections secure with no visible damage found. Damaged harness connection cut away. Confirmed oven sensor registering accurately 1100 K ohm at ambient temperature of 74?F. Wire harness repair conducted for accurate temperature register. Power restored, unit oven set for normal bake at 350?F, two pots of water placed onto the units LF/ RF cooktop positions, LF / RF set to high. Unit reached preheat temperature of 350?F and continued normal operation for several minutes after, blower fan fully functional. Simultaneously both pots of water on the cooktop reached boiling point and continued well beyond reported failure point. All operations check good at time of service. Customer to continue normal use of the unit and advise should further service be required.

"Replaced ring and tray. Ran unit multiple times without noise or any faults. Unit is working properly. Customer will advise if noise returns, in which case we will have to replace turntable motor, which will require cabinet trim to be removed prior to service being scheduled.

Found both front corner cabinet screws for the dryer were loose causing play in the cabinet and vibration where the front bulkhead makes contact with the blower housing. Replaced switch harness assembly. Ran through a quick wash cycle and no faults found at this time. All operations test OK at this time.

Inspected unit and determine the heating element and the cutoff limit were faulty therefore not allowing the unit to heat. Will need both parts replaced. Install new heating element and cut off limit. Tested operation of the unit and it is now heating properly. Job complete.

Installed new suspension and than a new valve that i found to be faulty also replaced control and recalibrated unit and than confirm unit working through regular testings

"Inspected unit and determined the pump and motor is getting 120 VAC but will not activate. We have a faulty pump and motor. will need to be replaced. Gave customer an estimate, but she declined repair and prefer to buy a brand new unit.

Unfortunately, to fix this issue, we will have to replace the rear tub and in a basket which it will not be cost-effective. Removed rear evap panel frost ball was not on the expansion line at all it was to the left of it. The evap had a full frost pattern and was sticky to the touch all the way to the bottom. No sealed system leak. I defrosted the ice near the fan assy and sealed the holes near the entrance of the heat exchange lines. Job complete

"Inspected unit and determine the wire harness going to the secondary valve was faulty loose, therefore not energizing the solenoid for the icemaker. Repair problem by reattaching the wire connection tightly insecurely to the secondary valve. It is now energizing and sending water to the icemaker. Working properly job complete.

Inspected unit and determine the upper rack railings the left and the right were faulty falling apart therefore the rack was just hanging and it wouldnt allow the door to close so you could start a cycle. Will need both left and right upper railings. Per service pointer #W11296667 whirlpool is covering parts and labor S-Code S22916. Install new railings. Tested operation of the unit and it is now working properly. Job complete.

"Inspector unit and determined several problems. One is the wire harness internally in the freezer door one of the wires which since power to the icemaker is broken and theres no way of fixing it due to the fact that its underneath the unit and theres no slack in order to Rewire it. Customer will have to purchase a new door to solve that issue. Also, we have a faulty water filter housing, which will not release the filter. It is broken and will need to be replaced. Gave customer a rough estimate for the whole repair. But he declined to go with the job and will purchase a new unit.
