Maytag Washer F2 E2 Error Code Explained

If your Maytag washer is showing an F2 E2 error code, this guide is for you. To help you remove the code, we’ll let you know what to do. We have also included other common Maytag error codes in this article in case your machine starts to show other common ones.

What does the F2 E2 error code mean?

If your Maytag washer shows an F2 E2 error code, it means there is an issue with the connection between the main power relay control board and the display interface control board.

How to remove the F2 E2 error code

The easiest way to remove the F2 E2 error code on your Maytag washer is to reset the appliance. This can be done by turning the washer off for five minutes before turning it back on again. 

If the code is still showing, you will either have to call a technician to come and inspect your appliance or you can fix it yourself by replacing the user interface control board.

Common Maytag front-loader error codes

Maytag washer error codes SUD or SD

The SUD or SD error code means your washer has excess soap suds in the washer drum. Usually, this problem fixes itself, but if it doesn’t, you will need to remove some of the suds from your appliance before it will start working again.

Maytag washer error codes DET OR DET

These codes indicate a detergent cartridge has not been detected in the detergent drawer. To resolve the problem, make sure you have placed a detergent cartridge in the drawer and that you have closed it properly.

Maytag washer error code F5 E2

This code means the door isn’t locking properly. To remove the code, start by pressing the “pause” button two times, followed by the “power” button once. This should remove the error code. If not, you will need to test the door lock, and if faulty, replace it.

Maytag washer error code F7 E1

This error code means there is a motor speed-sensing problem. To remove the code, open the washer and re-balance the load. If the washer has a lot in it, remove some of the items. 

Close the lid and see if the code has gone. If not, press the “pause” button two times, followed by the “power” button once.

Maytag washer error codes F8 E1 OR LO FL

These error codes mean the washer is not getting enough water. To fix the underlying problem, start by making sure the water supply is turned on. You can also make sure the inlet valve filters aren’t blocked. 

If the code still shows after that, press the “pause” button twice and the “Power” button once to see if it removes the code.

Maytag washer error code F8 E2

This code indicates a problem with the dispenser system. To fix the problem, check the detergent drawer to make sure there isn’t any detergent residue in it that is stopping it from working correctly.

Maytag washer error code F9 E1

This code means your washer isn’t draining fast enough. To resolve the problem, you will need to get a technician to inspect the drain pump. 

However, before doing that, reset your washer by turning it off for five minutes before turning it back on again.

Maytag washer error code INT

This code means the cycle has been paused or has been canceled. Press the “Pause” button to restart the cycle. If that doesn’t work, press the “pause” button two times and the “power” button once to remove the code. 

If the code is still showing, reset the washer by turning it off for five minutes before turning it back on again.

Maytag washer error codes LOC OR LC

This code means the control lock is on. To turn the control lock off press the control lock button.

Common Maytag top-loader washer error codes

Maytag washer error code DRN

This error code means the washer isn’t draining properly. To remove the code, check the drain hose to ensure it isn’t blocked or kinked. 

If so, unblock it or re-position it so it can operate correctly. If that doesn’t work, a technician will need to inspect the drain pump.

Maytag washer error code HC

This code means the hot and cold water inlet hoses are not installed properly. To remove the code, check that both hoses are properly connected. 

If not, adjust them. If that doesn’t work, reset the washer by turning it off for five minutes before turning it back on.

Maytag washer error code LDL

This code means the washer lid isn’t locking. To fix the problem, make sure the lid lock isn’t obstructed from being able to work properly. 

If you’re unable to fix the problem, the lid lock might need to be replaced by a technician.

Maytag washer error code LDU 

This code means the lid isn’t able to unlock when the cycle ends. To fix the problem, make sure nothing is obstructing the lid lock. If that doesn’t work, reset the washer by turning it off for five minutes before turning it back on. 

If the code is still showing, you will need to get a technician to come and inspect your washing machine.

Maytag washer error codes LF, LO FL, OR F8 E1

These codes indicate the washer isn’t able to fill up with water quickly enough. To fix the problem, make sure the water supply is properly connected and turned on. If that doesn’t remove the code, make sure the inlet valves are not blocked. 

If the valves aren’t blocked, reset the washer by turning it off for five minutes before turning it back on to see if that solves the problem.

Maytag washer error code LID

This code means the lid isn’t closed properly. To remove the code, make sure the lid is closed. If that doesn’t work, reset the washer by turning it off for five minutes before turning it back on. 

If the code doesn’t stop showing, you will need to get a technician to come and inspect your appliance.

Maytag washer error code OFB

This code means the laundry load isn’t balanced. To fix the problem, open the lid and rebalance the load. 

If you have heavy items like towels in the washing machine, you may need to remove some of them.

Maytag washer error code OL

This code means the washing machine is overloaded. You can remove the code by taking items out of your washing machine.
